I love---except the plantings on the porch. Fewer, with better planters & organization with pop of red or pink flowers (Impatients?) at base and also trimming the curve of the front plantings would make it much prettier/more upscale, and cohesive. IMHO
i also agree with French Heart. Some plant editing on the portico and some color in front of the hedges are just what it needs. The house is beautiful. Best...Victoria
Too much white - let's see some contrast (elegant classic choices) between the trim and brick. (could be as many as 3-4 colors + the shutters) Put copper on roofs of the bay windows. Ditto less planters - the lattice planters (w/boxwood) need to be even BIGGER! Let's subtract the little planters and add some place to sit and enjoy this front garden. Cheers!
I love it too!! Perfect scale and a circular drive gets me every time.

ReplyDeleteANYTHING with a cupola! (I've got them on the house, garage, boathouse, gazebo..yes, cupola crazy.) AND, those columns! *sigh* franki
ReplyDeleteI agree with French Heart. Too many insignificant plants and pots on front porch, but the house is wonderful. I LOVE the gravel driveway
