It's A SMALL Blog-World: Belgian Pearls

Please meet Greet Lefevre of the fabulous blog, Belgian Pearls.  I have been reading Greet's blog since she started it in July of this year.  Her phenomenal taste and beautiful images have inspired me from day one.  Greet, along with her brother pictured here, run a fourth generation cabinetmaking business, Lefevre Interiors.  Their work is top-notch, has beautiful detail and classic style.  I feel very lucky to call Greet a friend and only look forward to many other great posts from Belgian Pearls.  I'm sure it will be a must read for you once you have been properly introduced, so it is my honor:  Greet Lefevre of Belgian Pearls.

Question 1.  Where did you grow up and where do you live now?

I grew up in Wielsbeke, a little town in Belgium (Flemish-speaking part of Belgium) and now I live in a town, called Brakel, situated in a wonderful Belgian region, called the Flemish Ardennes.

Question 2.  What is your profession?
I am an interior designer.

Question 3.  Why did you start your blog?
The first reason to start a blog was the fact that I wanted to share my passion for interior design and all things beautiful and to express my design ideas from time to time. I love to hear what other people think about it. You can learn a lot of other people's ideas when blogging.
I discovered that a lot of people, mostly American people, were very interested in Belgian Design! So this was the second reason to start my own Belgian blog.

Question 4.  What do you like most about blogging?
I love to meet and to interact with people from all over the world. You can learn a lot of the cultural background from people from all these different countries!

Question 5.  What is the most valuable thing you've gained from blogging?

In general, blogging, is a wonderful medium to meet people and to make a lot of new friends and, for me in particular, I have gained so much new information about designers, manufacturers, products from all over the world.

Question 7.  How many new friends do you have because of your blog?
Oh my goodness, I have a lot of new friends!  With some of them I feel there is a real bond of friendship growing.  It feels like I've known them for a long time.  Can you imagine?!

Yes, Greet, I can imagine.  I feel the same way.  My best gift of learning about this new world of blog is all my talented and wonderful friends.  I feel like I've come home to a long lost family.

We'll talk soon.

A Renewed Spirit!

Remember my Grinch?  My favorite Grinch and I agree on this for certain, when Christmas is in the books, it's O-V-E-R, over!  The tree is down, the house is put back together and this Christmas is a distant memory.  We love it, but when your tree goes up the weekend of Thanksgiving, we are ready to see it all go until next year.

2010 is upon us.  We are very excited for a fresh new year of possibilities.  Ragland Hill Social will provide beautiful images, lots of entertainment and plenty of inspiration for everyone.  Look for " A Week in White" coming from RHS very soon.

We are off for fun with friends to include the Mississippi Delta, New Orleans and then to our friends' beautiful house in Hardeman County for a New Year's Eve celebration.  I've got a few posts scheduled for while I'm away so check back, but for now, I'll be thinking of you while I'm gone.

A little teaser for "A Week in White" and below are pictures of our very special Christmas celebration.  Enjoy!

Festivities started at our house Christmas Eve.  Dinner for many was our first event after Christmas Eve church services.

Our first stop Christmas Day was lunch at my beautiful sister-in-law's house.  Somehow she escaped my camera, how, I don't know, but she is a pretty as her table and lovely lunch.

There is nothing more fun to watch than girls ripping through many, many gifts.  We had so much fun!

Our next and last stop was at my Mother's for Christmas Night dinner.  It was great to be with my very special (and large) family.  All our cousins were here, except a few, and my sister and brother were home from Houston and San Francisco.  So much fun!

A big hug to all my family.  We love being together and even though many of us live in Memphis we don't get to see each other as regularly as we would all like.  Life is crazy isn't it?

Now we are off to be with our army of friends.  Life provides many, many blessings.  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  Much love and happiness to all my Ragland Hill readers!

We'll talk soon.
